SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Burton LeBlanc, shareholder at Baron and Budd, was elected President of the American Association for Justice (AAJ) yesterday at the organization’s annual convention in San Francisco. Previously President-Elect of the AAJ, LeBlanc heads Baron and Budd’s Baton Rouge, Louisiana office where he focuses his practice on environmental litigation unique to the state of Louisiana and significant consumer fraud cases. LeBlanc is only the second attorney from Louisiana to serve as president of the AAJ and is one of its youngest presidents.

“I am so honored to have this opportunity to serve as president of the AAJ”

“I am so honored to have this opportunity to serve as president of the AAJ,” said LeBlanc. “This organization does incredible work to help protect the rights of Americans, and I can’t wait to get started.”

LeBlanc is one of the very few plaintiffs’ attorneys nationwide to have been awarded the prestigious Wiedemann Wysocki National Finance Council Award from AAJ twice, once in 2007 and again in 2010. The award honors attorneys for their commitment to honoring the legal profession and their continued efforts to improve the civil justice system for people.

Born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, LeBlanc has dedicated his career to championing the rights of people, small business owners and governmental entities who have suffered harm or been victims of fraudulent conduct. LeBlanc’s background covers environmental law, securities litigation, toxic exposure cases and complex litigation. Today, LeBlanc has expanded his practices to include consumer fraud litigation, where he currently represents the states of Hawaii, Mississippi, Louisiana and West Virginia.

LeBlanc has previously served as President-Elect, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Parliamentarian of the AAJ, as chair of the AAJ National Finance Council and is a former president of the Louisiana Association for Justice (LAJ).
