Law360, New York (July 26, 2013, 6:49 PM ET) -- Maryland's highest court ruled Thursday that a plaintiffs expert in an asbestos injury lawsuit could testify that every single exposure to asbestos substantially contributes to the development of mesothelioma, restoring a $1.1 million judgment against Ford Motor Co.
A majority of the Maryland Court of Appeals reversed an intermediate appeals court's decision to disallow the testimony of Dr. Laura Welch in a suit brought on behalf of a woman who died from mesothelioma she developed after being exposed to asbestos from her husband's work clothing....
