Tributes paid to much loved MartinTributes paid to much loved Martin

TRIBUTES have been paid to a family man from Clacton with talent for making those around him laugh.

Martin Hunt, 67, of Chilburn Road, died in May after a battle with a disease caused by working with asbestos when he was younger.

He was diagnosed with Pleural Mesothelioma last year and died on May 18.

A coroner ruled that the death was a result of industrial disease at an inquest in August.

Now his family have spoken about Martin, calling him a “fantastic man”.

Wife Margaret said: “Martin was a very hardworking man and a real fun-loving person.

“He made everybody laugh. He had a special talent for it and had a real way with people.

“All of my friends idolised him. He was a fantastic man.”

A keen swimmer and cyclist, and a dab hand at DIY, Martin remained active until the disease took hold, even completing a gruelling 50-mile bike ride just before being diagnosed.

He leaves behind two children and two grandchildren.
