Body will discuss additional requirements to county zoning ordinance governing mining later this month

Members of the Ashland County Mining Impact Committee heard nearly an hour and a half of testimony and comment regarding the presence of asbestos at several locations in the Penokee Hills of Ashland County where Gogebic Taconite (GTAC) plans to mine for iron ore.
