Austin, Texas (PRWEB) July 15, 2013
The law firm of Hissey Kientz, LLP is announcing the launch of its new website, Mirena Lawsuit Help (http://mirenalawsuithelp.com/ ). The site will serve as a source for news and legal information for patients and their families who have experienced complications after receiving a Mirena Intrauterine Device (IUD).
According to a June 18 Kansas City NBC news report, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has logged more than 70,000 complaints about the Mirena IUD since the birth control device went to market in 2000. The Mirena complaints included reports of serious complications such as ectopic pregnancy, uterine perforation, device migration pelvic inflammatory disease, abnormal vaginal bleeding, infection, vaginal scarring and IUD expulsion.
The FDA issued two warning letters in 2009 to Mirena manufacturer Bayer Pharmaceuticals. The letters stated that Bayer “presents unsubstantiated claims, minimizes the risks of using Mirena, and includes false or misleading presentations regarding Mirena.” The FDA warning letters were issued in response to Mirena online advertisements and videos published on the social networking website Mom Central.
Patients who have experienced uterine perforation, device migration, or other serious side effects after being implanted with a Mirena IUD may wish to speak with a lawyer to find out if they are eligible to file a lawsuit. For more information about whether you may have a case, contact the attorneys at Hissey Kientz, LLP by calling toll-free at 1-866-275-4454 or by email at info(at)hkllp(dot)com.
